ROSS Creek \u2013 Smythes Creek Community Group is bringing their car boot sale back for a second year on Sunday, 23 February from 9am to 1pm.<\/p>\n

The group\u2019s community coordinators, Cathy Bushell, Suzanne Ryan-Evers and Dianne Scobie have organised the sale as part of their work to provide more opportunities for \u201ccommunity connectedness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Bushell encourages residents of the area to come along and sell, shop, browse, have a coffee, sausage and a chat.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople clean out their cupboards and make a little bit of pocket money,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s a really great community event. It\u2019s fantastic to see people come down and have conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n

At last year\u2019s sale, many local residents and neighbours caught up having not seen each other for some time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really touching and heartening to see people connecting. It was so lovely.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had quite a few new families move into our area, so it gives them an opportunity to meet others living around them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fire brigade\u2019s cricket club are running a barbecue, the local Landcare group are hosting a stall, a jumping castle is booked in for kids, and there\u2019ll be a few food options.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Golden Plains Shire are also going to be having a pop-up conversation post about their upcoming recreation strategy,\u201d Ms Bushell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re going to take the opportunity to chat to community members about what they\u2019d like to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Visit trybooking.com\/BHXSU<\/strong><\/a> or pick up a form at the Ross Creek General Store to book a car boot site. Cars are $20 and trailers are $25.<\/p>\n

Find the sale at the Ross Creek Reserve on Sebastopol-Smythesdale Road. Entry is by gold coin donation with proceeds to community and reserve improvements. \u00a0The Ross Creek Recreation Reserve committee are strong supporters of the sale.<\/p>\n
