FORMER diesel mechanic, Tim Brayshaw launched the Moondreamz foundation to make the goals of children living with brain cancer a reality.<\/p>\n
Based in Ballarat and affiliated with the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Melbourne, he raises funds and awareness for the neurological department, hoping to spread positivity and hope to patients and their families.<\/p>\n
But now Mr Brayshaw\u2019s presenting a new fundraising initiative, charity ball, A Night Under the Moonlight.<\/p>\n
At The George Hotel\u2019s Lounge on Friday, 21 February, the event will be an opportunity for Ballarat locals to hear from special guest, television personality Gorgi Coghlan, and \u201crelease their inner child.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve done some fundraising in the past for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and there were a few people in town that said, \u2018you should have a ball.\u2019 It\u2019s all happened very quickly,\u201d Mr Brayshaw said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a night to bring people together because kids have vivid and wild imaginations. Kids just live in the moment, they\u2019re quite content most of the time and as adults, we sometimes move away from that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to make the night magical, memorable and energetic, so we\u2019ve got a few activities planned that will be a nice surprise for everybody. It\u2019s a nice event for people to network and all for a great cause to help these kids at the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
RCH Neurologist, Professor Andrew Kornberg will also speak on the night.<\/p>\n
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Canapes and finger food will be provided with drinks at bar prices. Tickets are $150 and available at The George Hotel, Griffin Burger or the Gravy Spot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
