It\u2019s just thick icing, but it seems like edible clay,\u201d he said. \u201cI find it easier to mould into the shapes I like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An entrant in the upcoming Ballan Autumn Festival\u2019s annual Country Women\u2019s Association cake decorating competition, he\u2019s been finessing this fondant and icing work, mindful of BAF\u2019s 2020 superhero theme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been practicing my cake for the festival,\u201d Casper said. \u201cIt\u2019s a Spider-Pig cake. I find Spider-Pig quite a funny character and I thought it would be pretty cool to see how that turned out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This time around, he\u2019s been looking at the broader Spider-Man universe, but he\u2019s previously been inspired by books and <em>Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Casper is excited to be a first-time baking entrant at BAF.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_67117\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-67117\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-67117\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2020\/02\/BAF-Casper-cake-for-web-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-67117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Spider-Man universe has inspired Casper\u2019s baking.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m hoping people will like my cake, I\u2019m not really trying to compete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The popular cake decorating competition is run by the Ballan and District CWA, presenting dazzling edible creations and celebrating the talents of their makers.<\/p>\n<p>The CWA runs high tea experiences so visitors can view the competition entries, enjoy a cuppa and a sweet treat.<\/p>\n<p>BAF will run on Sunday, 15 March, celebrating local superheroes from 9am to 4pm.
