WHAT\u2019S your big idea for Golden Plains Shire? How should growth, industry, recreation and agriculture be handled? What\u2019s needed to make life better now and into the middle of the century?<\/p>\n

Well, now\u2019s you\u2019re chance to have a say on all those issues and more with the opening of a survey that will feed into the Shire\u2019s council plan for the next five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig ideas and projects often take significant time and commitment to make a reality, so we\u2019re asking the community to look ahead and think about what Golden Plains will, and should, look like in 2040,\u201d said mayor Cr Owen Sharkey.<\/p>\n

Known as Community Vision 2040, the community feedback process has come out of a community reference group.<\/p>\n

Taking in residents from across the municipality, the group undertook training and workshops that have subsequently formed the backbone of the survey process.<\/p>\n

Mayor Cr Own Sharkey said now it\u2019s everyone turn to have a say.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis round of engagement has been designed by the community, for the community. I encourage all residents to get on board and complete the Community Vision 2040 survey today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe community vision is a unique whole-of-community plan that will reflect local residents\u2019 aspirations about the future of our Shire and guide decision-making toward this vision.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are many ways Shire residents can take part in the survey.<\/p>\n

Online submissions can be made via goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/consultations<\/strong><\/a>, while hard copies of the feedback postcard can be found that Shire\u2019s service centres in Linton, Smythesdale and Bannockburn.<\/p>\n

Councillors and Shire staff will also be a listening post across the municipality over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

They include Friday 27 March, Bannockburn Skate Park Competition and 10am to 2pm, Saturday 28 March at the Meredith Sharing Shed Community Action Day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
