{"id":67380,"date":"2020-03-03T05:55:16","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T18:55:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=67380"},"modified":"2020-02-26T19:03:19","modified_gmt":"2020-02-26T08:03:19","slug":"checking-out-with-new-library-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/checking-out-with-new-library-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Checking out with new library access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SMYTHESDALE now has expanded library services following the installation of a networked computer terminal at The Well.<\/p>\n<p>The new service allows for the collection of reserved books and materials and can check them out and back in again as well.<\/p>\n<p>Operating between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, the new station will complement the town\u2019s mobile library service, that will continue to visit on an unchanged schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCouncil is excited to have the new library station up and running at The Well in Smythesdale, delivering a valuable service for book pick-up and library collection returns that\u2019s now open to all residents in the north of the Shire 45 hours a week,\u201d said Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Owen Sharkey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLibrary regulars will still enjoy full-service mobile library visits in Smythesdale\u2026, and now this additional service provides a convenient option to encourage more Golden Plains Shire residents to become active library members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mobile library service visits nine towns across the Shire, with stops in Enfield, Meredith and Rokewood every Thursday and Cape Clear, Haddon, Linton and Smythesdale every Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday visits to Smythesdale will also continue between 9am to 12pm on the third Saturday of every month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCouncil\u2019s mobile library is one of our most valuable and beloved services, with regular visits to nine townships across the Shire,\u201d Cr Sharey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMembership is free and all residents are encouraged to stop by and sign up with our mobile librarian, who is ready to assist with all our library services.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SMYTHESDALE now has expanded library services following the installation of a networked computer terminal at The Well.
