EXACTLY twenty thousand dollars was raised earlier this year at the Ballarat\u2019s Best for Bushfire Relief concert.<\/p>\n
More than 300 attendees were hosted at the Ballaarat Mechanics\u2019 Institute on Friday, 17 January as the city\u2019s arts community united to support those affected by the Victorian bushfire crisis.<\/p>\n
Event producer, BMI venue and facilities coordinator, Sam McColl said his team of organisers, including Lisa Laine, were very grateful to those who came along to enjoy the night of live music.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are so proud of the Ballarat community for banding together and supporting this cause,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were honestly so overwhelmed with love and strength from those who helped out. It was incredible to experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
The official Victorian Bushfire Appeal is receiving the funds through the Bendigo Bank Community Enterprise Foundation, with money also going to BlazeAid and the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund.<\/p>\n
