{"id":67595,"date":"2020-03-16T05:55:53","date_gmt":"2020-03-15T18:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=67595"},"modified":"2020-03-10T16:36:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T05:36:57","slug":"our-town-inspires-environmental-photography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/our-town-inspires-environmental-photography\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Our town\u2019 inspires environmental photography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROKEWOOD\u2019S children will have their own exhibition moment during the Arts Trail period when the Memorial Hall hosts a family day on Sunday, 22 March.<\/p>\n<p>Showcasing imagery inspired by the prompt, \u2018Rokewood, our town,\u2019 Rokewood Primary School\u2019s grade prep to two will hang drawings, while grade three to six have photography to present.<\/p>\n<p>Led by WestWind Energy, Erin Gray said the event is about helping the children skill-up creatively to represent an environment that engages them, and unite families with fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve come on board to facilitate a community event at the hall because bringing the community together is our very favourite part of being there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll have kids\u2019 activities, a face painter and jumping castle. We\u2019ve got the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning education trailer coming to explain how renewable energy works, and the Shire Create Crate with games and activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thought it was a nice idea to have it on the Golden Plains Community Arts Trail weekend so the kids can get involved, have their own show and the community can come and have a look.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Offering materials for children to take home, WestWind will also be giving prizes for best photography in show, and the Rokewood Pub is providing pizza.<\/p>\n<p>Hoping to run another community event in October, WestWind wants to hear ideas from other local groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really keen to have something along the theme of Spring in the Shire, with it warming up again and people getting outdoors,\u201d Ms Gray said.<\/p>\n<p>Contact <a href=\"mailto:info@goldenplainswindfarm.com.au\"><strong>info@goldenplainswindfarm.com.au<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ROKEWOOD\u2019S children will have their own exhibition moment during the Arts Trail period when the Memorial Hall hosts a family day on Sunday, 22 March.
