TONIGHT\u2019S City of Ballarat council meeting is still set to go ahead, however the public and media will not be permitted to attend in person as the municipality seeks to protocols around social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s believed the only people allowed to attend the meeting will be councillors, the CEO and two staff members to take minutes.<\/p>\n
The meeting will still be live-streamed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been trying to look at ways of how we can work around this council meeting and whether we can do it in different ways, but we can\u2019t,\u201d said mayor Cr Ben Taylor from his home via video<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re still going to run the meeting but it will be very limited in relation to how many people are in the room.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019ll be only be a couple of council officers, the rest will be on Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n \u201cCouncillors will be there but following our distancing in our work environment.\u201d<\/p>\n Public question time will still take place and questions can be emailed to glennkallio@ballarat.vic.gov.au<\/a> before 4pm today.<\/p>\n To watch tonight\u2019s council meeting from 7pm visit 7pm ballarat.vic.gov.au\/city\/about-us\/council-meetings<\/a>.<\/p>\n
