Last Year, Ms Stevenson coordinated a Biggest Morning Tea in Ballarat which raised over $5000, and she hopes lots of other people will be inspired host their own events in isolation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone\u2019s been touched by cancer in one way or another, so it\u2019s important to get awareness out there for all types and raise as much money as we can for people who are affected by it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In the current climate, some community members will be feeling alone. Cancer Council Victoria head of fundraising and communications, Lisa Kastaniotis said those facing treatment for this disease often experience a sense of isolation, and more so now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOVID-19 is especially difficult for Australians undergoing cancer treatment, cancer survivors and their families and friends,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Biggest Morning Tea campaign offers a chance to get creative and unite in different ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be a virtual morning tea with family, friends or colleagues online, a cuppa with those in your household, or you could even raise a mug to your neighbour across the street,\u201d Ms Kastaniotis said.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/biggestmorningtea.com.au\"><strong>biggestmorningtea.com.au<\/strong><\/a> to register or donate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VIRTUAL cuppa catch-ups will be a large part of this year\u2019s Australia\u2019s Biggest Morning Tea campaign, generating funds for Cancer Council Victoria.
