{"id":68520,"date":"2020-05-08T04:54:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T17:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=68520"},"modified":"2020-05-05T14:24:30","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T03:24:30","slug":"virus-education-pack-to-empower-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/virus-education-pack-to-empower-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Virus education pack to empower kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A NEW resource pack, <em>SeeMore Bug Safety: the tiny germs we can\u2019t see <\/em>has been created by Dr Susie O\u2019Neill to educate preschool aged children about preventing the contraction and spread of viruses.<\/p>\n<p>As the CEO and founder of Ballarat\u2019s KIDS Foundation, Dr O\u2019Neill said the \u201csmart book\u201d and information offer ways to \u201cease uncertainty\u201d for little people feeling anxious or worried, and has been developed in response to feedback from early childhood educators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe help build strong lives by giving children experience-based understanding of how to manage everyday risks and challenges, so the little people in our lives are ready to take on the world,\u201d Dr O\u2019Neill said.<\/p>\n<p>Ten thousand free resource packs are set to arrive at kinders, preschools and early learning centres around the country so children can understand how to best look after themselves, and those around them, as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Moneghetti, an ambassador for the foundation for 25 years, was part of the campaign\u2019s launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreviously in my life I was an educator and teacher. I understand how important these resources are,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Parents can access resources for their early learners working at home via <a href=\"http:\/\/kidsfoundation.org.au\/classroom\"><strong>kidsfoundation.org.au\/classroom<\/strong><\/a>. Navigate the site with help from <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=d7dX2NNRB-4&amp;feature=youtu.be\"><strong>youtube.com\/watch?v=d7dX2NNRB-4&amp;feature=youtu.be<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The KIDS Foundation also runs an Adopt a GrandBuddy program where kindergartens visit aged care centres.
