Sort of.<\/p>\n<p>With the regular Bannockburn event cancelled indefinitely due to COVID-19, the Shire has launched a new Golden Plains Virtual Farmers\u2019 Market and it\u2019s linking stallholders with customers via the Be Kind to Business website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just our bricks and mortar businesses that are facing challenges due to COVID-19, but also the stallholders who rely on our monthly market to sell their goods,\u201d said mayor Cr Owen Sharkey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Golden Plains Virtual Farmers\u2019 Market is all about keeping that link between vendors and their regular customers and encouraging everyone to be kind and support our local businesses during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of the campaign, the Shire will also send out a list of stallholders via the council <em>Gazette<\/em>, the Farmers\u2019 Market e-newsletter and Business News, as well as pushing out on social media channels so customers can buy directly from vendors.<\/p>\n<p>Cr Shakey said that until the physical farmers\u2019 market returns, the online offering was a great way of supporting local growers and makers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we all miss strolling through the market and seeing the produce, food and the friendly vendors, this new platform is a great way to support our local stallholders until the much-loved market can return,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To be included on the stallholder list, as well to be generally included in the Shire\u2019s Be Kind to Business campaign, contact the Investment Attraction &amp; Business Support team on <strong>5220 7111<\/strong> or <strong>business@gplains.vic.gov.au<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For a full list of stallholders visit <a href=\"http:\/\/goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/business\/be-kind-business\"><strong>goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/business\/be-kind-business<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Golden Plains Farmers\u2019 Market is back.
