WRISC Family Violence Support has received a nine thousand, four hundred dollar donation from Central Highlands Water, to fund programs for children who\u2019ve experienced family violence.<\/p>\n
The money was raised over the Ballarat Begonia Festival weekend this year, when Choose Tap stainless steel reusable water bottles were sold for $10 each.<\/p>\n
Executive officer of WRISC, Libby Jewson values the ongoing support of CHW, which provides services closely connected to her clientele.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor women that are vulnerable or in hardship because of family violence, when they\u2019re paying bills or even having maintenance done for a dripping tap, they need to deal with sensitive people throughout that process,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been fantastic for Central Highlands Water to have that sensitivity and understanding around family violence, supporting us as the local, women\u2019s-only service.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving the support of a large community organisation like this, for a second year, is really important. We\u2019re thankful for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
CHW managing director, Paul O\u2019Donohue is grateful to those who purchased a bottle over the Labour Day long weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to support WRISC and the work they do in our local communities to provide support for women and children in need,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWRISC clients are part of our community and this is one of the ways we can assist our vulnerable customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
When Choose Tap bottles were sold at the Ballarat Begonia Festival for the first time in 2019, over $4000 was generated, which paid for one of WRISC\u2019s children\u2019s art therapy programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
