THE Eureka Centre\u2019s Talking History <\/em>series is providing a platform for the presentation of new research relating to Ballarat\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

The forum showcases information discovered by local residents and people living in the Ballarat region, encouraging conversations about the city\u2019s history, especially the colonial era.<\/p>\n

Anthony Camm, Eureka Centre manager said Talking History<\/em> runs on the first Tuesday of every month at 5.30pm, and has been streaming live since July via the Eureka Centre\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur next talk on 6 October will be filmed ahead of time, and presented by Ballarat actor and writer, Marg Dobson,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarg researched the life of one of Ballarat\u2019s first photographers, Daisy Harriet Llewelyn, for her one-woman performance, presented at the 2019 Ballarat International Foto Biennale.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarg will discuss how she was able to honour this extraordinary woman through a creative work of theatre, pieced together from limited fragments of information about Daisy\u2019s life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Camm said the centre is seen as a tourist attraction, but should also be a space for people to connect and explore ideas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program caters to our local community, but with our live streaming, we\u2019re attracting people from all over the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
