{"id":72084,"date":"2020-10-18T04:55:03","date_gmt":"2020-10-17T18:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=72084"},"modified":"2020-10-13T16:26:07","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T06:26:07","slug":"miners-rest-springfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/miners-rest-springfest\/","title":{"rendered":"No Rest for SpringFest beneficiary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FIVE community partners will benefit financially from funds raised during this year\u2019s Ultimate SpringFest Online Raffle.<\/p>\n<p>One of those, Miners Rest Primary School, has been spreading the word about the reimagined festival with their community as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Principal Dale Power said his students, parents and staff are proud to be involved in such an iconic community mainstay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing part of a significant, important event like this, it really links the Miners Rest community with the greater City of Ballarat which is rewarding, and it helps our school have a bit of a profile out here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have our own market out here. SpringFest gives us a nice link with lots of vendors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Funds the school receives from the alternative fundraiser will help the ongoing development of their campus\u2019 new building and facilities project worth $17.1 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will help the resourcing of our new school site. When projects finish, there\u2019s always a shortfall to resource new settings. Our media room, arts wing and STEM unit will need modern supplies,\u201d Mr Power said.<\/p>\n<p>School captains Jarvis and Addy said new sports equipment will also be purchased, but most importantly, younger students will be better supported in their learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to get lots of new equipment so they have a good schooling and education that they remember for a long time,\u201d Addy said.<\/p>\n<p>Money generated at SpringFest last year helped the school develop their Caf\u00e9 1739 community space, including purchasing a coffee machine.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing to support stall holders, stay connected with the community and put a pep in Ballarat\u2019s step over the usual SpringFest time period, the raffle is live via <a href=\"http:\/\/ballaratspringfest.com.au\"><strong>ballaratspringfest.com.au<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>More than 100 prizes can be won, giving everyone a chance to add some SpringFest sparkle to their home, even though the traditional Market Sunday event can\u2019t run in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>The Rotary Club of Ballarat\u2019s SpringFest committee is encouraging those who would usually head out to enjoy a lap of the lake on SpringFest\u2019s Market Sunday to grab a ticket, support the festival, its community partners, and its stallholders.<\/p>\n<p>A limited amount of tickets are for sale.
