Go Traffic is helping to drive much-needed employment opportunities for men and women of all ages living in regional Victoria.<\/p>\n

The traffic management company, which employs about 500 staff, has begun recruiting for traffic controllers as demand builds in the lead-up to summer.<\/p>\n

General Manager Stuart Wickens said Go Traffic was committed to creating and nurturing job opportunities in regional communities and helping those most in need to gain employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuckily the COVID crisis has had minimal effect on our industry and we are in need of more staff to get ready for the busy summer months right across the state,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe assist people with barriers to job entry such as long term unemployed and those who just need a little extra help to get a foot in the door.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you are a young person looking for your first job or a more mature person over the age of 50 with a load of life experiences, we would love to talk to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"Mr Wickens said women made up more than 30 per cent of Go Traffic\u2019s employee base and staff had excellent pathways for advancement throughout the business into administration, supervisor or management roles.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many of our employees began in traffic control and have worked their way up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who is willing to put in a bit of time, to learn and follow instructions, they really can make a career out of it \u2013 there are huge opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraffic control is a great career path for anyone who likes to work outside and quite often in a different location every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Wickens said the advertised roles would suit anyone looking for a career change and the necessary qualifications could be obtained through Go Traffic\u2019s training arm, Go Training.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur affiliation with Go Training helps to provide a one stop shop for our customers and anyone looking to get into the traffic management, vegetation management or spotting fields,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Wickens said improving the economic and social prosperity of regional areas was a key focus for Go Traffic, along with a commitment to safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn line with the Victorian Government\u2019s social procurement framework, we provide local procurement opportunities by employing locally and supporting local suppliers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
