WESTWIND Energy will host their pop-up Golden Plains Wind Farm office at Rokewood Hall next Thursday, 5 November.<\/p>\n
Community engagement officer, Lyall Grey will be on site from 10am to 4pm to meet with locals in person and give them updated information on the wind farm.<\/p>\n
Erin Gray, WestWind\u2019s head of business administration and engagement, said now that these sessions have returned post-COVID isolation, it\u2019s the ideal time for the community to bring along their Wind Farm queries and get some answers.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople will have the opportunity to ask questions about the project and the Community Benefit Fund, learn about the proposed quarry that is needed to supply hard rock for construction, and the processes for sub-contractors to register expressions of interest in the project,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all like to know what is happening in our patch. Our regular pop-in offices provide an opportunity for people to find out about the project and ask questions directly of the Golden Plains Wind Farm team.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Golden Plains Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is a supporter of not-for-profit groups and organisations, set up to financially boost community-centred initiatives.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe objective of the Fund is to make a positive and lasting contribution to regional communities within and around the Golden Plains Wind Farm,\u201d Ms Gray said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the planning and construction stages of the Golden Plains Wind Farm, the Community Benefit Fund will, twice a year, provide $10,000 for a range of community purposes and needs, including health and social welfare, safety, environmental, educational, youth projects, sport and recreation, culture, the arts and economic development.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
