{"id":72695,"date":"2020-11-11T16:23:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T05:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=72695"},"modified":"2020-11-12T07:58:05","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T20:58:05","slug":"all-abilities-cricket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/sport\/all-abilities-cricket\/","title":{"rendered":"Try-outs seek cricket stars of all abilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NORTH Ballarat Cricket Club will enter a team into the upcoming Melbourne All Abilities Cricket Association competition season.<\/p>\n<p>Currently working to put together an all-abilities squad, the Club is inviting potential players to head to the Northern Oval off Creswick Road this weekend to try out for the team.<\/p>\n<p>NBCC are the coordinators of Ballarat\u2019s All Abilities Cricket Program which launched this year, offering a playing space any people with disabilities to bat, bowl and field.<\/p>\n<p>Cricket director, Adam Eddy is leading the initiative which is the only one of its kind in the city. He hopes it will be a positive outlet for people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Ballarat and the wider region, people with disabilities don\u2019t really have a sport to play in the summer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really excited to get this program off the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The try-out session will run from 10am to 12pm this Sunday, 15 November. NBCC asks those trying out arrived on site 15 minutes early so their details can be recorded.<\/p>\n<p>The BAACP is supported and run by Club coaches and volunteers so players can strengthen their cricket skills and love of the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis program is open to everyone.
