ALTHOUGH their Community Arts Trail wasn\u2019t held in 2020, Golden Plains Arts Inc\u2019s has thought innovatively to share their work with the community, whether in studios or online.<\/p>\n

The not-for-profit supports creatives in the Shire and champions diverse mediums, with visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, historians and writers in their fold.<\/p>\n

Secretary Marita Reynolds said members are inviting the public to engage with their artwork and practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeading up to Christmas, Barry Wemyss from Red Echidna Studios will be open every Saturday by appointment, from 10am to 4pm until Saturday, 19 of December in the north of the Shire\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLyn Dickson, Roslyn Bosnar and I will also be exhibiting from Marita Reynolds Art Studio in the south of the Shire, and will be open one day only on Saturday, 28 November, 10am to 4pm. No appointment is necessary.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese events are COVID-safe, with social distancing and a limit on numbers applied.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reynolds said the pandemic period has been a positive \u201cturning point\u201d for the collective.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we couldn\u2019t do the arts trail, it was devastating, but we had to regroup so we sent out a survey to our members.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone\u2019s listened to the options that have been put out to them and have done what they think is the best,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very inclusive, although we might be perceived as just visual. We\u2019ve got musos now, literary people, including a writers\u2019 group. It\u2019s certainly been a time of change.\u201d<\/p>\n

The website, gpartsinc.com.au<\/strong><\/a>, was created by members to showcase their works always. Each artist will eventually have their own profile page, alongside a GP Arts Inc news feed.<\/p>\n
