{"id":73020,"date":"2020-12-14T04:55:52","date_gmt":"2020-12-13T17:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=73020"},"modified":"2020-12-09T14:19:44","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T03:19:44","slug":"quest-ballarat-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/quest-ballarat-station\/","title":{"rendered":"New hotel at station opened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>QUEST Apartment Hotels opened their new Ballarat Station location on Monday morning, with seventy-seven rooms set to welcome visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The accommodation, and the ongoing surrounding Station precinct is a partnership with developer, Pellicano and the State Government, who put in $28.3 from the Regional Infrastructure Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison said this project will \u201credefine Ballarat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead of the old gravel carpark and a neglected rat and pigeon-infested goods shed, when we get off at the Ballarat train station, we\u2019ll have this stunning hotel, a beautiful public plaza and the restoration of our goods sheds which will be an asset for decades to come,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73022\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73022\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-73022\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2020\/12\/DSC_0223-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73022\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nando Pellicano, Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison, James Shields and City of Ballarat mayor Cr Daniel Moloney declare the hotel ready for guests.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe vibrant, connected and accessible commercial and community hub&#8230;will inject over $51 million into our local economy and is expected to create 140 jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>City of Ballarat mayor, Cr Daniel Moloney said Quest Ballarat Station is a \u201cmagnificent\u201d result on a \u201cdifficult site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s what our city is all about, and from a council perspective, we\u2019re keen to turn some of these underutilised parcels of land in our central area into incredible buildings that employ and engage people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis area was a bit of a bombsite initially, and a really underutilised part of our city\u2019s central area.
