{"id":73633,"date":"2021-01-28T04:44:05","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T17:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=73633"},"modified":"2021-01-26T16:38:55","modified_gmt":"2021-01-26T05:38:55","slug":"ballarat-soccer-club-recruits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/ballarat-soccer-club-recruits\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballarat SC seeks new recruits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOLLOWING a football-free year, Ballarat Soccer Club are rebuilding their team and encouraging people of all experiences to be a new recruit.<\/p>\n<p>President, Lucy Brennan said Ballarat SC\u2019s approach in 2021 will be more collaborative than ever, redeveloping and strengthening the Club post-2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re a very family-orientated club. We\u2019re all about providing pathways for men, women and children of every age and skill ability,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to provide a lot of opportunities, and we have a lot of knowledge to share through our coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The state men\u2019s competition starts in March, while the local Ballarat &amp; District Soccer Association season and state women\u2019s league both launch in April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe BDSA season is still full-steam ahead with weekly games. In further development, the State League is something both girls and boys can aspire to, by training hard and coming to games on Saturday and Sunday, and watching the local seniors and reserves,\u201d Ms Brennan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to diversify our club. We\u2019re showing that we don\u2019t just have pathways for men, but for women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aware that players won\u2019t have had a proper kick since this time last year, Ms Brennan said any interested people don\u2019t need to worry about their on-pitch experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone always starts at the same spot, and we\u2019re all starting from square one this year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter how long you\u2019ve played, or if you haven\u2019t played before, because we build our Club on friendships, not just skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur coaches are brilliant and well-aware that they have to cater for every skill level.
