CORANGAMITE Catchment Management Authority is facilitating an update of a key document.<\/p>\n

Known as the Regional Catchment Strategy, it aims to outline management goals and priorities regarding the Corangamite region\u2019s land, water and biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Project groups will be able to refer to the RCS to ensure the environment is not only cared for, but enhanced through their work. It will also give the community tips about how to approach collaborative protection.<\/p>\n

Corangamite CMA CEO John Riddiford said the strategy refresh will encourage the community to take protective ownership over their nearby green spaces and wildlife.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticipate in the protection, restoration and enhancement of natural resources across the Corangamite Region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis strategy will be important for developing projects that protect and enhance both regional and community scale environmental assets, such as our rivers, creeks, and biodiversity, and support sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople who farm and manage land, live in towns, work, or volunteer all have a role to play in renewing the Corangamite Regional Catchment Strategy for 2021 to 2027.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Strategy will cover Ballarat, the northern uplands, basalt plains, and the Western District lakes along with areas like Geelong, the Bellarine, Surf and Otway coasts.<\/p>\n

It will be redeveloped alongside environmental agencies, municipalities, and private landowners.<\/p>\n
