THE Bannockburn Chamber of Commerce is seeking enterprising people from the south of the Shire to join their committee.<\/p>\n
President Bronwyn Davie said the group has tightened after the economic challenges of 2020, so they\u2019re looking for motivated businesspeople to become part of the advocacy team.<\/p>\n
The committee experience \u201cfast tracks your understanding\u201d of the district\u2019s commercial operations.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing on the committee is fantastic. You get to the front of the news, it\u2019s a great networking opportunity, and getting to know other committee members, and Chamber members, means you can proactively support local,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you are a person on the committee, suddenly you find out a lot more information that just doesn\u2019t get disseminated in other ways.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt helps you run your own business and understand what\u2019s happening locally.\u201d<\/p>\n
Running two businesses, Ms Davie has been living in Bannockburn for 18 years. She said people may not think they have the time, but committing to the Chamber is manageable.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s good to give back, and it\u2019s not as tedious on the committee, or as hard as people think.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur meetings are in a very amiable environment, and it\u2019s an opportunity to keep your finger on the pulse of what\u2019s going on from the front,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Chamber has recently received a grant from the State Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to develop a digital local business directory.<\/p>\n
In 2021, they will also explore the possibility of collaborating with the Golden Plains Shire to facilitate several networking events each year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
