Ten-year-old footy-lover, Ava enjoyed practicing her skills on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe focused on handballing, bouncing, calling for the ball, kicking the ball, and tackling,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI enjoyed playing a mini game the most, and playing rob-the-nest.\u201d<\/p>\n
NetSetGO coach Anna McGuane worked with just under 30 netballers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey all seemed to really enjoy it. Some loved the footy as well,\u201d she said. \u201cChildren are still more than welcome to come along in the coming weeks to get a taste of it to see whether they like the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe skills and activities are tailored to any age group and experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Liversage said parents have provided positive feedback, and families are excited to take some ownership of their growing community club.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople are buying up some of the apparel. It makes them feel part of something, so they\u2019re quite proud of the tops. We have a sponsors\u2019 and a playing guernsey.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt shows we\u2019re a proper club now, and not just a concept,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Warriors will be represented in the 2021 Ballarat Football Netball League Under Nine competition.<\/p>\n
The draw is set for release this month, which will assist the club\u2019s planning as they enter their first year of play.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re hoping to launch the Warriors\u2019 first home game here in the second round. Everyone will come here, so it will be very exciting to have kids running around, and to host about 500 people,\u201d Mr Liversage said.<\/p>\n
The Warriors\u2019 Woolworths Cricket Blast program kicked off on Tuesday afternoon, 23 February, and will continue at the Smythesdale Recreation Reserve in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
