Image: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Shire is holding a consultation session this evening, Thursday, 29 April on site at 3 Moore Street, Bannockburn. From 4pm to 6pm the plans will be accessible, and council officers and skatepark design and construction contractors Convic will be on site to take feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Helena Kirby said the facelift, worth $450,000, has financial backing from the State and Federal governments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe project will feature a safe, accessible and modern design for our young skaters, scooters and bikers, while addressing public safety around the site,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades will also see concrete resurfacing, landscaping, a shade area, seating, drink taps, bike racks, lockers, safety signage, and electrical works.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage interested locals to get down to the skatepark this Thursday, 29 April to see the plans, and speak with our friendly staff about the project. If you can\u2019t make it in person, the plans will be available on council\u2019s website until Monday, 3 May,\u201d Ms Kirby said.<\/p>\n<p>At 4pm and 5pm throughout tonight\u2019s consultation session, Skate Park Leagues will run two beginner scoot clinics on the existing skatepark.<\/p>\n<p>You can also provide feedback at <strong>goldenplains.vic.gov.au\/consultations<\/strong>, via <strong>enquiries@gplains.vic.gov.au<\/strong> or by post to Golden Plains Shire Council, PO Box 111, Bannockburn, Victoria, 3331.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A DRAFT design for the upgrade of Bannockburn\u2019s skatepark has been released before works begin in July.
