BALLARAT has been named as a finalist in the Victorian top tourism town awards.<\/p>\n

The Victorian Tourism Industry Council recognised the city for its commitment to growing visitation and delivering amazing experiences.<\/p>\n

Other finalists include Bendigo, Dromana, Frankston, Lakes Entrance and Swan Hill.<\/p>\n

Mayor Cr Daniel Moloney said the awards are a celebration of the tourism industry\u2019s recovery from COVID-19 and residents should be proud of the town\u2019s attractions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have Sovereign Hill, we have the Ballarat Wildlife Park, we have Kryal Castle, we have Lake Wendouree and the Botanical Gardens, and we have amazing hospitality venues all across Ballarat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also have the fantastic Art Gallery of Ballarat, the Eureka Centre, Her Majesty\u2019s Theatre and, of course, our beautiful old historic buildings.<\/p>\n

\u201cBallarat\u2019s history and heritage, which has been immaculately preserved, naturally places us as a top contender in the VTIC Top Tourism Town Awards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Voting is open now until 12pm on Thursday, 27 May and all entries go in the draw to win a trip to Melbourne for two.<\/p>\n
