FIVE community projects across the Golden Plains Shire have been awarded funding from the Golden Plain\u2019s Wind Farm.<\/p>\n
Recipients of the latest round of the Community Benefit Fund included Rokewood Kindergarten and Illabrook Hall, and Westwind Energy chief operating officer Marla Brauer said the organisations were chosen for their community impacts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe welcome the opportunity to support local community groups that are working hard to make a positive and lasting contribution to the regional communities around the Golden Plains Wind Farm,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
A community refence group of local volunteers decided on successful applications based on criteria of community development, education and training, health and wellbeing and the environment.<\/p>\n
Rokewood Kindergarten will receive $2500 for outdoor blinds, and the suburb\u2019s RSL has been awarded almost $1700 for new screen doors.<\/p>\n
The Rokewood and District Newsletter will purchase a new laptop valued just under $1200, Illabrook Hall will upgrade their switchboard with just over $1200 and Barunah Park Hall will install solar sensor security lighting with their $230.<\/p>\n
Applications for the Golden Plain\u2019s Wind Farm\u2019s next $10,000 round of funding will open in late October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
