{"id":75704,"date":"2021-05-21T04:56:56","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T18:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=75704"},"modified":"2021-05-19T17:22:56","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T07:22:56","slug":"golden-plains-arts-inc-moving-forward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/golden-plains-arts-inc-moving-forward\/","title":{"rendered":"Show helps artists move forward together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CREATIVE collective, Golden Plains Arts Inc are <em>Moving Forward<\/em> this June and July.<\/p>\n<p>Artists within the group, all based in the Golden Plains Shire, will exhibit work at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre for almost six weeks, showcasing their photography, paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and ceramics.<\/p>\n<p>GP Arts Inc secretary Marita Reynolds said the show will present members\u2019 surge of creativity which came as they emerged from the isolation of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have 34 artists participating and a big variety of works from textiles to pottery, not just wall art. It\u2019s a mixed bag,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s about new beginnings.\u00a0We\u2019re showing the art that our members have done while <em>Moving Forward<\/em>; the new things that we\u2019re producing now, out of isolation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis exhibition is a chance for us to come together to show the broader community what we\u2019re working on. It\u2019s an opportunity for us to support one other, and our different mediums, and move forward together. It\u2019s pretty exciting to see what\u2019s being created.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An official launch event will be held on Thursday, 3 June from 4pm to 6pm, with snacks provided, a complimentary first drink, and further beverages at bar prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mayor of Golden Plains Shire, Helena Kirby will be our guest speaker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are inviting not just friends and family, but the community to come in and engage with us, and celebrate that we\u2019re able to come together, and that we\u2019re <em>Moving Forward<\/em>,\u201d Ms Reynolds said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s exciting to have the Mercure available to groups like us. They\u2019ve been supportive in organising the event. It\u2019s a great example of local groups supporting each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Moving Forward<\/em> exhibition opens at 9am on Tuesday, 1 June and is viewable for free daily until 5pm at 613 Main Road Ballarat.
