DROPPING into the local pet shop for a few supplies could help Guide Dogs Australia train two puppies to support people with low vision or blindness, and boost their independence.<\/p>\n
PETstock\u2019s charity organisation, PETstock Assist, is running their annual Raise a Guide Dog, Change A Life fundraising campaign, with a goal of generating $100,000.<\/p>\n
The process of raising and training an assistance dog is worth at least $50,000 and takes about 24 months.<\/p>\n
PETstock\u2019s Dion Collard said his team is calling Ballarat locals to action.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re asking them to visit their nearest store and purchase specially marked products,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, we encourage any contribution to our donation boxes in-store. Every bit truly makes a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
Campaign brand partners include Boehringer Ingelheim, Mars, Blackmores, Rogz and Kong.<\/p>\n
Guide Dogs Australia CEO Group\u2019s Michael Kightley charity partnerships like this are \u201cessential in making a real difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
