EUREKA Cycling Club staged graded division races on a short thirty-seven-kilometre course from Learmonth to Mount Beckworth and back, on Sunday, 4 July as part of the round four of the Europa Cafe Winter Aggregate Race Series.<\/p>\n
Bracing conditions saw most riders wear triple layers as they battled each other and the elements.<\/p>\n
Amy Benham rode the course solo after race day scratchings decimated her grade.<\/p>\n
Andrew Wilson landed his first road race victory in Division 3 after fighting off a dogged Peter Livitsanis the length of the home straight.<\/p>\n
Jason Birch returned to the winner\u2019s circle in Division 2, which fielded the largest bunch of the day.<\/p>\n
Riding a smart tactical race, Birch was able to cover any efforts by his challengers with ease, before getting away in the final few kilometres and winning in a canter from Tim Sinclair.<\/p>\n
Dayne Pearce tested the Division 1 riders for almost the entire circuit. Jason Hendry was up to the task and met every challenge Pearce threw at the field.<\/p>\n
A daring late attack by Tony Mirabella caused panic in the ranks, leaving Pearce to chase it down and setting Hendry up for the sprint win.<\/p>\n
