A PAIR of Western Bulldogs in particular are attracting the interest of rival clubs.<\/p>\n
Ed Richards and Pat Lipinski have been identified as two fringe Bulldogs who are being looked at as they prepare to come out of contract this year.<\/p>\n
Sam Edmund and David King discussed the pair with the former asking the latter what advice he would give to two young players on the edge.<\/p>\n
\u201cPat Lipinski has been a bit of a sleeper at the Western Bulldogs,\u201d he said on SEN Breakfast.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe spoke about him a few weeks ago that there is interest and every week he\u2019s out of the side that interest grows.<\/p>\n
\u201cEd Richards, that has been the case for a while.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s certainly interest in them and some rival clubs would love to take them off the Dogs\u2019 hands.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019re a successful club, how do you convince players to stay when you\u2019re contending and they can get more opportunity elsewhere?\u201d<\/p>\n
North Melbourne champion King says it can go one of two ways with Richards and Lipinski, who either see themselves sticking it out with the Dogs, or moving on to get more minutes at another club.<\/p>\n
\u201cGo and leave if you want to get more opportunity to represent a club that\u2019s not in the window, that\u2019s probably going to eke along for four or five years, if that\u2019s what you really want,\u201d King said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOr you can hang around here and you can fight tooth and nail to get yourselves into a premiership contender.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to be there for the next five or six years so it\u2019s on you to become the best version of yourself and replace someone in the selected 22.<\/p>\n
\u201cEmbrace the challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
Richards, 21, has tallied 60 games over four seasons with the Dogs and is believed to be on the radar of North Melbourne and Brisbane.<\/p>\n
22-year-old Lipinski, who has played 54 times in the red, white and blue, has recently been linked to the Sydney Swans.<\/p>\n
