RESIDENTS of Golden Plains will have access to a series of free information sessions on mental health and drug and alcohol services being held all over the Shire in the coming months.<\/p>\n
Known as Let\u2019s Come Together and hosted by not-for-profit community service organisation Barwon Child, Youth and Family, the events are open to all members of the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Let\u2019s Come Together sessions are an excellent initiative, where locals can share a cuppa and some cake and find out more about the mental health and drug and alcohol services that they can access, should they need them,\u201d said mayor Cr Helena Kirby.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith events in Meredith, Bannockburn, Inverleigh, Teesdale, Smythesdale and Lethbridge, I encourage local residents that have any questions about support services or are just looking to reconnect and enjoy some company, to consider coming along.\u201d<\/p>\n
A session will be held every month for the next four months on a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, with the next session scheduled for 27 July at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre.<\/p>\n
The sessions are delivered in partnership with the municipality and the State Government\u2019s Community Activation and Social Isolation initiative, a program established to help people and communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic build and maintain social connections.<\/p>\n
