BANNOCKBURN and District Chamber of Commerce plan to host their next informal networking opportunity at the end of the month.<\/p>\n
President Bronwyn Davie said prospective and current members are welcome to visit the front bar of the Railway Hotel on Friday, 30 July for a drink and a chat between 5pm and 7.30pm, COVID-19 restrictions permitting.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe won\u2019t have any speeches, but our committee will have recently met, so if we have any news, this is an opportunity for us to give members updates on the Chamber,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Another informal networking evening will be hosted on Friday, August 27 before the organisation\u2019s annual general meeting in September.<\/p>\n
The Chamber officially relaunched in June with its first networking function since the arrival of the pandemic in early 2020.<\/p>\n
\u201cHeld at the Bannockburn Bowls Club, more than 50 local business owners and Shire representatives were there to celebrate the launch of our inaugural 48-page Bannockburn and District Business Directory, a bi-annual publication to help local business reach the community,\u201d Ms Davie said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe function and the directory were the culmination of more than two years of planning by the Chamber committee.<\/p>\n
\u201cFunding from a Business Chambers and Trader Groups grant helped kick-start the project and enabled the committee to offer subsidised membership for 2021.<\/p>\n
\u201cFeedback on the new publication has been great, both from businesses keen to join and the community, who miss the old Bannockburn newsletter.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe bonus is that our Chamber is thriving again. We are really excited about its potential to help our business members.\u201d<\/p>\n
Golden Plains Shire coordinator of economic development Peter Ridsdale said the municipality was keen to collaborate with the Chamber in offering mentor opportunities, commercial support and grant application help.<\/p>\n
