NEW Delacombe doctors\u2019 practice Lotus Family Clinic have taken the opportunity showcase a local artist\u2019s works on their fresh building\u2019s walls.<\/p>\n
The watercolour landscapes and flowers, and oil birds, of painter Glenys Warren-Teasdale are displayed around the clinic.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been painting and drawing for as long as I remember, with a love for nature; birds, flowers and life but I\u2019ve only been doing watercolour paintings for a few months,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few years ago, I heard about a group over at the Ballarat East Men\u2019s Shed. A brilliant teacher there has taught me to enhance and fine-tune my drawing.<\/p>\n
\u201cA group of us started to gain an interest in watercolour. I find the media of watercolour pencils, and then using a wet brush, very satisfying, and that\u2019s how I\u2019ve got the very delicate look of my paintings out at the Lotus Family Clinic.\u201d<\/p>\n
The opportunity for Warren-Teasdale to hang her works came about when she visited the practice with a friend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was looking for a new doctor, and as soon as I walked in, I said, wouldn\u2019t my pictures look lovely here? They\u2019re calming, relaxing, and work with the feel of the place,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI showed some to the clinic, and Jodie was taken with them, hence they are now hanging there.\u201d<\/p>\n
All Warren-Teasdale\u2019s \u201ccalming…seasonal scenes\u201d in watercolours are for sale, while the birds painted in oils are just for presentation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m grateful, thankful and very humbled for this opportunity to show my work,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the Lotus Family Clinic the healthcare provider is happy to provide a platform for Warren-Teasdale\u2019s paintings.<\/p>\n
