FEDERATION University has climbed Times Higher Education\u2019s World University Rankings ladder which lists top institutions for 2022.<\/p>\n
Fifteen hundred universities worldwide are ranked, with FedUni placing in the 601 to 800 band, up from the 801 to 1000 bracket in the 2021 rankings.<\/p>\n
Vice-chancellor and president Professor Duncan Bentley said FedUni might have only existed for seven years, but its reputation is strong and developing.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur… high-quality teaching, research, industry partnerships and connection to the international community is growing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis world university ranking reflects the hard work of our staff and students, and our focus on making a difference in communities in our campus regions and around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
A statement released by the institution said the gain in ranking was the result of improvements made in the areas of teaching and research, and an increased global outlook.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith campuses in Ballarat, Berwick, Brisbane, Gippsland and the Wimmera, Federation\u2019s world ranking is recognition of the role the university plays in driving economic growth and jobs in its regions through industry and government partnerships,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt also reflects Federation\u2019s high-quality teaching and learning, the quality of its research publications and strong international connections.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Ballarat\u2019s university story began with the School of Mines in the 19th century, Federation University Australia was born out of the 2014 amalgamation of the University of Ballarat and Monash University\u2019s Gippsland campus.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, FedUni was named a top young university under 50 years old in the 201 to 250 bracket of the Times Higher Education World Rankings.<\/p>\n
The institution is also in the top 301 to 400 bracket for education, the top 501 to 600 for social sciences, and clinical and health, and in the top 601-plus for business and economics.<\/p>\n
In the Academic Ranking of World Universities, FedUni is part of the top 51 to 100 institutions for their delivery of sports and exercise science education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
