WORKS to add a roundabout on the Midland Highway at the intersection of Clyde Road just outside Bannockburn are expected to get underway soon.<\/p>\n
An announcement by Regional Roads Victoria said the project was slated to start in October and take about half-a-year to complete.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re currently finalising designs, preparing traffic management plans and working with service providers and nearby residents to coordinate the stages of delivery,\u201d an RRV statement said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunity consultation completed in 2018\/19 has helped inform design features for this safer intersection.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis\u2026 project will improve safety and ensure the Midland Highway and Clyde Road intersection caters to increasing traffic volumes as the Golden Plains Shire grows.\u201d<\/p>\n
Set to cost $6.5 million, the new roundabout is jointly funded by the State and Federal governments.<\/p>\n
During the works traffic management systems will be in place, with workers said to be onsite Monday to Friday,<\/p>\n
\u201cOccasionally we will need to close a traffic lane in either direction to ensure the safety of our workers and road users,\u201d the RRV statement said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur on-site messaging signs will provide you with the latest changed traffic information.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will aim to keep disruptions and traffic queues to minimums and outside peak traffic times. Delays are expected, so please allow extra travel time and drive safely to the conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Midland Highway and Clyde Road roundabout installation comes as another nearby traffic management project edges closer to completion.<\/p>\n
According to RRV, work on the $3.2 million Bannockburn town entrance roundabout, at the intersection of Clyde, Kelly, and Geelong roads and High Street, is meant to be complete by mid-October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
