FEDERATION University has begun distributing VCE care packages with the aim of supporting local students in their final months of secondary schooling.<\/p>\n
Acknowledging the challenges year 12 students have faced while completing final units with the impacts of COVID-19 lockdowns, FedUni has put together the bundles to encourage them to think outside the box of the current climate and consider their tertiary options.<\/p>\n
Uni course information, support resources, and vouchers for local food venues they can enjoy throughout their exam study period have been put into the 3000 care packs being distributed to high schoolers via careers advisors.<\/p>\n
Vice-chancellor and president Professor Duncan Bentley said FedUni is aware of how \u201ctough\u201d it\u2019s been for those completing they final year of secondary school.<\/p>\n
\u201cSenior high-school students… have spent most of their VCE studying during a global pandemic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope these care packages can go some way to helping students as they study for exams and prepare for their post-secondary future.\u201d<\/p>\n
FedUni runs an early offer program, helping year 12s lock in a place at the institution pre-exam period.<\/p>\n
The institution is also offering a 2022 FED Success package, that includes a $1000 grant for regional year 12s whose studies have been greatly impacted by the pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the TAFE to higher education pathway combined programs… students receive an offer to both the TAFE and higher education programs,\u201d A FedUni spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese hybrid programs combine practical TAFE skills training with the critical thinking and analysis skills of a university degree.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupport measures include… more than $5 million in total scholarships to help students realise their dreams, and an early offer program where year 12 students can apply for an early conditional offer for a place in their chosen course.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
