{"id":78612,"date":"2021-10-19T04:55:20","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T17:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=78612"},"modified":"2021-10-12T15:44:25","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T04:44:25","slug":"next-gen-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/next-gen-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Gallery seeks Next Gen exhibitors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Art Gallery of Ballarat is now accepting expressions of interest for their <em>Next Gen 2022<\/em> exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Secondary students in year 11 and 12 who are studying VCE art and design subjects are encouraged to apply to be part of the annual showcase, which celebrates young up-and-coming creatives, their art pieces, and hard work completed within the previous school year.<\/p>\n<p>Gallery education officer Kate Gorman said the exhibition will launch in February, with its awards evening.<\/p>\n<p>Students will be recognised in the areas of excellence, innovation and creativity, and the show will remain accessible until April.<\/p>\n<p>A People\u2019s Choice Award will also be presented when the exhibition closes, following votes from the public who visit <em>Next Gen 2022. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Drawer and former studio art pupil Kyah Chisholm was 17 when she won the judges\u2019 Excellence Award in 2020 for her piece <em>Disconnected Generation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really loved seeing my work being displayed in an actual gallery.
