GOLDEN Plains families are invited to join the Shire as they celebrate Children\u2019s Week this October.<\/p>\n
Putting the achievements and talents of kids the spotlight, three events run by the municipality will take place throughout the festival between Saturday, 23 and. Sunday 31 October.<\/p>\n
Pop-ups at Bunjil Lookout, Haddon Lions Woady Yaloak Centenary Park, and Teesdale\u2019s Turtle Bend will link to the week\u2019s broader theme of exploring young people\u2019s rights to safe relationships and friendships of their choosing.<\/p>\n
Playing and crafting friendship rocks, children will be able to meet new people, share ideas, and learn together.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Helena Kirby invites families to connect at the free activity mornings.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil is pleased to once again offer inclusive in-person Children\u2019s Week activities after our virtual celebration in 2020,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Child and Family Services team has done a fantastic job organising what is sure to be a fun and engaging activity day for children and families from across the Shire.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pop-up events and friendship rock activities will deliver a fun-filled celebration of Children\u2019s Week for Golden Plains families.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Children\u2019s Week pop-ups will run from 11am to 12pm, at Bunjil Lookout on Monday, 25 October; Haddon Lions Woady Yaloak Centenary Park on Tuesday, 26 October; and Teesdale\u2019s Turtle Bend on Thursday, 28 October.<\/p>\n
They have been funded by the State Department of Education and Training.<\/p>\n
Craft supplies will be provided and children should come dressed in comfortable, mess-appropriate clothes.<\/p>\n
Shire kinders and playgroups will be able to participate from their own centres, receiving friendship rock packs from the Shire.<\/p>\n
