BALLARAT Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions has appointed Sowmya Nargaraj to project manage the Grampians Community Power Hub.<\/p>\n
An engineer, Ms Nargaraj has expertise in the areas of renewables, energy efficiency, and electronics, and is the former coordinator of the Victorian Healthy Homes Program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis community energy project is about getting a lot of different people together to bring positive changes, especially at this time when we\u2019re facing a big global challenge with climate change,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to see communities equipped to be more energy resilient, especially in the Grampians Region and across Ballarat\u2019s different community groups.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very community oriented, so I\u2019d like to see everyday people take things into their own hands, rather than relying on someone else to solve the problem, or be their saviour.\u201d<\/p>\n
BREAZE has also appointed Sam Rodgers as the GCPH communications and administrative officer.<\/p>\n
An environmental scientist with expertise in sustainability management, Mr Rodgers is the host of the Smart Living Ballarat Talks program, and is the former Wyndham City Council sustainability officer.<\/p>\n
BREAZE president Dr Mary Debrett said the organisation is pleased to have secured \u201csuch well qualified professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n
