LIGHTS and sounds will liven Teesdale as the sun goes down on Saturday, 4 December.<\/p>\n
Teesdale Turtle Bend Committee\u2019s free twilight music festival and lantern parade, Live@Turtle Bend, is coming to the town and its reserve precinct.<\/p>\n
At dusk, more than 120 local children and families will parade down Teesdale\u2019s main street with handmade lanterns featuring a giant turtle, brolgas, and parrots.<\/p>\n
Co-organiser Claire Whiteley said people of all ages are invited to enjoy the broader festivities including a fire show, live musical performances from classic blues-rock band Bones and Jones, multicultural group Sikander, Lady Valentine, and Orange Butter Club, and \u201chearty food\u201d and drinks.<\/p>\n
Live@Turtle Bend is a chance to unite the community after a challenging 21 months.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is especially important this year after the many restrictions and lockdowns we have faced during the pandemic,\u201d Ms Whiteley said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe children at Teesdale Primary School have made some beautiful lanterns and it\u2019s wonderful to see them at twilight as they wind their way to the Turtle Pavilion.\u201d<\/p>\n
Live@Turtle Bend will run from 6pm to 10pm, with the support of the Golden Plains Shire, Music Workshop, FreeZA, Oxygen College, the Bendigo Bank, the Bannockburn Men\u2019s Shed, and other local organisations and businesses.<\/p>\n
