AT Coles Stockland Wendouree on Monday morning, five thousand dollars\u2019 worth of groceries were put through the check-out in one transaction and packed into a line of trollies.<\/p>\n
These essentials were bought by the 3BA Christmas Appeal with a $5000 donation from W&D Finance.<\/p>\n
The supplies were delivered straight to the Appeal\u2019s beneficiary welfare agencies; Anglicare, St Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army, and Uniting Vic. Tas, who are providing emergency relief, basic food and Christmas hampers to thousands of local families in need this festive season.<\/p>\n
After the economic devastation experienced over the last two years, finance manager at W&D Michael Rice said his team felt it was only appropriate to give a major cash donation from their profits to a cause that would directly help local families seeking assistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see the amount of groceries that $5000 provides, and we hope it will help out a lot of families around the Ballarat region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been a strong supporter of the 3BA Christmas Appeal for a number of years, and it\u2019s a fitting Appeal given the times we\u2019ve been in.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Peter Caligari retiring as well, we thought it would be a good opportunity to put a reasonable donation in.\u201d<\/p>\n
3BA general manager John Fitzgibbon said Ballarat\u2019s ability to increasingly provide support continues to positively surprise him.<\/p>\n
