PETSTOCK\u2019S own registered charity, PETstock Assist is aiming to nourish companion animals in need this festive season.<\/p>\n
Until Christmas Day, the not-for-profit\u2019s Christmas Bowl Project will fundraise in PETstock stores, and seek to donate the financial equivalent of 100,000 serves of pet food to animal support organisations including Pets for the Homeless who service Ballarat.<\/p>\n
Jessica Curtis from PETstock Assist\u2019s charity and events said $2 will cover one bowl of pet food, and \u201cmake a world of difference\u201d to agencies that are cash-strapped due to the pandemic, and Christmas time demands.<\/p>\n
\u201cFood is such a key ingredient to Christmas, and allows us to reconnect with loved ones, four-legged or two-legged, yet many organisations rely on donations such as this to provide for their animals and clients,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough this initiative, we\u2019re not only hoping to support the animals, but also their owners and carers by alleviating the worry that supplying just one meal can cause.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith 100 per cent of PETstock Assist\u2019s donations going toward this initiative in the lead up to Christmas, we\u2019re calling on pet parents to consider how the small contribution and can positively impact and help the lives of so many animals.\u201d<\/p>\n
PETstock retail marketing manager Courtney Lee encourages people to be mindful of the vision impaired, the elderly, the homeless, and the pets that support and comfort them, and animals who are currently living in shelters awaiting adoption.<\/p>\n
