THE Ballarat Miners have announced their first signing for next year\u2019s Coles Express NBL1 South season, and she\u2019s a well-known name.<\/p>\n
Kristy Rinaldi will run on for her 15th season in Ballarat, having played for the Lady Miners, the Rush and now the recently rebranded return to the Miners.<\/p>\n
Second overall on the Ballarat games played list, Rinaldi is 181 centimetres tall and was listed as a guard last season, where she averaged over nine points and six-and-a-half rebounds in her 12 games played, with a shooting percentage of 31.25.<\/p>\n
Newly appointed Miners women\u2019s head coach David Herbert welcomed the veteran\u2019s return.<\/p>\n
\u201cKristy has been an amazing player for the Rush and now the Miners program for many years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hoping to rejuvenate her career and have her make a real impact on the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is our very first signing and a most important one to recognise the hard work, effort and sacrifice Kristy has given the club over many years.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would love nothing more than to win a championship for Kristy and that is exactly what we will have our sights set on.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have admired Kristy\u2019s ability to score from range and across the court for many years and I look forward to coaching her for the very first time.\u201d<\/p>\n
