A SUMMER by the coast has never been more attainable with a new initiative to pair jobseekers with tourism and hospitality vacancies in Greater Geelong, the Bellarine and Great Ocean Road regions.<\/p>\n

The Tourism Jobs Bank is a program designed to help employers find staff for the summer rush and beyond, and the best part is, anyone can apply.<\/p>\n

This new employment initiative is open to all, from seasonal tourism and hospitality whizzes, to those seeking a change of pace, and young people looking for their first job or gap-year gig, to the older cohort looking to scale back to a couple of days a week.<\/p>\n

Supported by the State Government\u2019s Regional Recovery fund, Tourism Jobs Bank takes job applications and assists with pairing candidates to jobs \u2013 taking the stress away from employers that have already faced a slew of adversity during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Geelong-based employment company Direct Recruitment matches candidates to jobs by facilitating preliminary interviews and short-listing applicants for business owners.<\/p>\n

The program also provides training support for both employers and candidates.<\/p>\n

As well as being able to work by some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, learn new skills and work in an environment that fosters social connection, successful candidates will have the option to have as much work to suit their needs, as well as flexible hours, with casual, permanent and part-times roles available.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeelong\u2019s surf coast provides a fantastic lifestyle, an attractive proposition for those looking to move to the region, or seeking a more flexible job,\u201d said Geelong Recruitment Hospitality and Tourism manager Alela Pinto.<\/p>\n

And if working at one of our region\u2019s wonderful tourist attractions, cafes and restaurants that are finally open at full capacity again isn\u2019t enough incentive, there is also a chance to win luxe experiences such as helicopter flights, hot springs sessions and boutique accommodation \u2013 all while getting a great new job.<\/p>\n

Each person placed in a position through the program will also receive a welcome pack.<\/p>\n

The Tourism Jobs Bank is an initiative of Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism and Tourism Greater Geelong and the Bellarine, supported by the State Government of Victoria and powered by Direct Recruitment.<\/p>\n
