THE municipality\u2019s pools and splash parks are open across Ballarat for another summer of fun.<\/p>\n
Ready to keep families cool and entertained on the hotter days of the holidays, the aquatic recreation facilities from Buninyong to Ballarat North are either cheap to access, or completely free, and cater to all ages.<\/p>\n
Sara McKenzie and her two daughters are regulars at the Midlands Reserve Splash Park on Doveton Street in Ballarat North which includes fountains, sprinklers, showers, tipping buckets and a water wall for children to enjoy.<\/p>\n
Operational via a button, it runs for 15 minutes per push, and is located next to shade sails, a regular playground and grassy area.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great free option for birthday parties, catch-ups with friends and cooling off on a hot day,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is easy access and parking, plus the toilet and barbecue facilities really help with making it an uncomplicated summertime activity.\u201d<\/p>\n
A similar water play space is in Sebastopol on Vickers Street. It operates the same way, and has an adjacent barbecue space, shaded area, playground, and public toilets.<\/p>\n
Eureka Aquatic Centre on Stawell Street in Ballarat East has 50-metre, 25-metre, and toddler pool options, and a splash pad.<\/p>\n
These school holidays, it\u2019s open Monday to Friday, 6am to 7pm, and 8am to 7pm on weekends and public holidays.<\/p>\n
The Black Hill, Brown Hill, and Buninyong aquatic centres are open Monday to Friday, 6am to 7pm, and 1pm to 7pm on weekends and public holidays these school holidays.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre is the City\u2019s indoor swimming facility at Prince of Wales Park, with a children\u2019s pool, and 25 and 50-metre lap pools.<\/p>\n
