{"id":79946,"date":"2021-12-22T04:55:34","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T17:55:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=79946"},"modified":"2021-12-21T17:23:34","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T06:23:34","slug":"ozact-romeo-juliet-kirks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/news\/ozact-romeo-juliet-kirks\/","title":{"rendered":"Classic story of love and loss at Kirks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WHEREFORE art thou Romeo&#8230; and Juliet?<\/p>\n<p>The star-crossed lovers are on their way to Ballarat to perform at Kirks Reservoir Park.<\/p>\n<p>A cast of experienced OZACT thespians will have audiences laughing and crying as they stage Shakespeare\u2019s tragic play <em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em> in the gardens at 6.30pm on Boxing Day, Sunday, 26 December and Monday, 27 December.<\/p>\n<p>The open-air show is set to excite audiences with its classic romantic, emotive, dramatic, and at times comedic story carried by actors Luke Ingram, Alexis Longley, Matt Young, Sorcha Breen, Ryan Ireland, Eleanor Ruth, Michael Davidson, and Daniel Pitts.<\/p>\n<p>Artistic director Bruce Widdop said Kirks Reservoir is an \u201cidyllic\u201d location to present the production, with big trees and vibrant flowers within its formal garden spaces, and rolling lush green lawns.<\/p>\n<p>He expects the audience will find <em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em> as \u201cbreathtaking\u201d as the shady and summery outdoor stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a really tough two years, it is time to get out and have some fun,\u201d Widdop said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith COVID-safety a priority, we are really excited to see all our audiences returning to enjoy outdoor Shakespeare once again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and start enjoying some of the things that we love, once more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The OZACT cast are beginning their Victorian tour of <em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em> in Ballarat, and will conclude it in April in the Grampians.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences are asked to bring along their own outdoor camping chairs.
