{"id":80215,"date":"2022-01-20T09:42:03","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T22:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/?p=80215"},"modified":"2022-01-20T09:42:03","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T22:42:03","slug":"tack-and-jive-with-awesome-live-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/living\/tack-and-jive-with-awesome-live-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Tack and jive with awesome live music!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bands and solo artists take the stage at this year\u2019s Festival of Sails in Geelong<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FROM pop to punk and blues to rock, you\u2019ll probably find a bit of everything in this year\u2019s fantastic music offering being presented during Gigs by Festival of Sails.<\/p>\n<p>The fabulous free live music offering has been created to replace the traditional entertainment program which usually happens on the Geelong waterfront during the iconic Festival of Sails regatta, which is Australia\u2019s oldest annual sporting event, and this year proudly celebrates its 179th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>With COVID-19 continuing to impact the running of many of Geelong\u2019s major events, the Gigs by Festival of Sails program has been developed with the support of Geelong Connected Communities to directly assist local artists and hospitality staff who have been some of the hardest hit by COVID restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>More than 50 artists will be performing across eight local Geelong venues, all within a short walk from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club.<\/p>\n<p>Gigs by Festival of Sails runs over eight days from 22 January to 29 January.<\/p>\n<p>These performances which are free to both the community and Festival of Sails participants will showcase the best local talent and Geelong\u2019s best venues and bring locals and visitors back to central Geelong.<\/p>\n<p>So, who will you find where?<\/p>\n<p>Head for Edge Geelong, Sailors\u2019 Rest, The Pier, Piano Bar, Lambys Tavern, Beav\u2019s Bar or the Barwon Club Hotel and you\u2019re in for a feast of live entertainment!<\/p>\n<p>Be transfixed by the cool and soulful talents of <em>The Voice<\/em> 2020 contestant Luke Biscan, let Andy Pobjoy delight you with his unique fusion of smooth vocals and rich piano playing.<\/p>\n<p>Singer and songwriter Marcus Hayden delivers folk with a dash of electric blues and for Steven Clark it\u2019s everything from rap, rock, pop through to the classics.<\/p>\n<p>While the duo from Good Faces for Radio \u2013 Matt and Marcus &#8211; have been described as the ultimate party band and there are dozens of other fabulous performers!<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find a full listing of all the venues, gigs and performers at <a href=\"http:\/\/festivalofsails.com.au\/gigs\"><strong>festivalofsails.com.au\/gigs<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>-SPONSORED CONTENT<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bands and solo artists take the stage at this year\u2019s Festival of Sails in Geelong &nbsp; FROM pop to punk and blues to rock, you\u2019ll probably find a bit of everything in this year\u2019s fantastic music offering being presented during Gigs by Festival of Sails.
