THE Ballaarat Mechanics\u2019 Institute will play host to the Three Tenors Tribute Show on Sunday, 30 January.<\/p>\n
Hosted by the Ballarat Italian Association, the event will feature classic operatic arias to modern songs and ballads for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m surprised but excited to be performing in Ballarat,\u201d said Angelo Falcone, who plays the role of Luciano Pavarotti.<\/p>\n
With two years of disrupted performances behind them, Falcone said he was hopeful the show at the Mechanics\u2019 Institute would go ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a couple years since we\u2019ve been able to do a normal show,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the last time I was able to do a show with the Three Tenors would\u2019ve been just before the COVID situation hit us.\u201d<\/p>\n
In pre-COVID times, the Three Tenors Tribute Show were regularly booked for up to 40 shows a year.<\/p>\n
Now with the uncertainly of a global pandemic only a handful of shows booked are currently booked, but the act is hoping to lock in a few more opportunities to get on stage.<\/p>\n
The trio, who have previously performed at the MCG and overseas for the last 20 years, are excited to be back in front of a live audience again, no matter how big or small.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said the attendance at the Mechanic\u2019 Institute is light, but it\u2019s been like that for all the shows they\u2019ve had for the last year anyway,\u201d Falcone said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very nice that they\u2019re having it there. I\u2019ve never been there before but it\u2019s a beautiful auditorium that fits 250 people.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
