Photos: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Working in aged care with many residents who have experienced cancer, Ms McDonald was inspired to take part in the World\u2019s Greatest Shave.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wanted to do something to raise awareness and help out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you go through cancer treatment like chemo or radiation, it\u2019s a massive thing to lose your hair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Linton Primary School held a crazy hair day in 2021 to raise some funds for the initiative, and Isabell has sold icy poles over the last two school terms for the cause. The Linton Takeaway has also been a major contributor.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80282\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80282\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-80282\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/goldenplains\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/01\/IMG_2214-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/01\/IMG_2214-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/01\/IMG_2214-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/01\/IMG_2214.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80282\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beck McDonald was supported in her fundraising by daughters Isabell and Emily, who were also given the task of snipping off her plats.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cBasically the whole community have been a great support and got behind me, including the Linton Larder, the Linton Pub, the Men\u2019s Shed, and the footy and cricket clubs,\u201d Ms McDonald said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the community day, my kids and my friend\u2019s two kids basically ran fairy floss and showbags, and sold raffle tickets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey worked so hard, running around, and if I hadn\u2019t had that support, I don\u2019t think I would have been able to accomplish it.
