FEDERATION University has announced it will be changing its education structure.<\/p>\n
The reshuffle comes after consultation with both staff and students and will see the replacement of the current six schools in favour of three \u201cinterdisciplinary institutes\u201d with the aim of better supporting sectors the FedUni feeds into.<\/p>\n
Of the three, the Institute of Health and Wellbeing will focus on medical practices as well as health and sports sciences, while the Institute of Education, Arts and Community will prioritise arts and humanities alongside social studies and the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability will incorporate general science, maths, engineering and business practices.<\/p>\n
Federation University vice-chancellor and president Professor Duncan Bentley said the change will help the institution stay ahead of the ever-shifting climate of the modern workplace.<\/p>\n
\u201cFuture jobs growth and employer demand is changing, and we need to transform the way we operate to ensure that we not only survive but thrive as Victoria\u2019s premier regional university,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoving to three larger institutes allows us to bring together different academic disciplines to work more collaboratively with a focus on jobs for our graduates and local employer needs.\u201d<\/p>\n
